Zrin, Hrvatska Kostajnica, Gore, Sisak
ZRIN festival is going to be opened in the old Zrin near the ruins of the Gothic church of St. Mary Magdalene in cooperation with the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Zagreb and the ensemble of traditional music. Our harpsichordist Pavao Mašić and the young soprano student Elena Roce are going to introduce themselves. Thanks to an eminent Croatian composer Tena Borić, the opening concert is going to be the premiere of the harpsichord composition Dišpet. It is the composition which uses the elements from tunes sung in Dalmatinska Zagora, which is the part of Croatia where the Šubić family arrived to Zrin from and it was originally composed for ZRIN festival. The festival programme leads us to the village Gore near Petrinja, to the largest Templar order estate, to the Gothic church of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a small Baroque church of St. John and Paul. As the multimedia project ZRIN festival includes a promotion of the book Eating in the Times of Zrinski from the period of manorial estate in Čakovec, which will be held in the Zrinski Hall in the Central Hotel in Hrvatska Kostajnica. This year’s festival story is going to finish with the concert La tempesta di mare by one of our best ensembles, the Croatian Baroque Ensemble in the Sisak Cathedral.
